Narendra Chanchal (famous for singing bhajans of Bhajan Samrat and mother in Jagrata) died today after prolonged illness at Apollo Hospital in Delhi. Narendra Chanchal was 80 years old.

Due to increasing weakness in terms of age, he was admitted to Apollo Hospital for the last two months. According to reports, he breathed his last around 12:30 pm today.

Talking about his songs, his hit list includes songs like ‘Chalo Bulava Aaya Hai’ and ‘O Jungle Ke Raja Meri Maiya Ko Leke Aaja’.

Narendra Chanchal was born on 16 October 1940 in Namak Handi, Amritsar. He was raised in a very religious environment. After a lot of struggle, he got work in Bollywood. He also sang songs in several films like Bobby, Anam and Roti Kadam and Makan.

He wrote his biography Midnight singer I wrote everything about my journey. Narendra Chanchal used to visit Vaishno Devi every year on December 29 and performed on the last day of the year.
